How to show the Day of the week in Excel?

Sometimes you may be using dates in your worksheet and want the cell to show the day of the week like Sunday, Monday, etc., In such cases follow the step:

1. Select the cell containing the date you want displayed as a weekday.
2. Right click on the cell and select Format Cells and click on the Number tab.
3. In the Category box select Custom from the list.
4. Type dddd in the Type field on the right side of the dialog box
5. Select OK.

You can use this technique to display the day of the week in four different formats:

1. digit number (d), 
2. digit number (dd), 
3. digit text (ddd), 
4. full-word text (dddd).
