Change the default sound setting for new mail notification.

When a new message is received, a beep sound is played, if enabled, but sometimes it is not played.

 

 

First of all, we recommend to check the option to play sound for new mail notification. The default sound file for new mail notification is given at the displayed registry path. To change the sound file, replace the complete path with the new sound (.wav) file destination.

 

 

For this,

1. Click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.
2. Next, go to the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\MailBeep\.current
3. Then right click in the Expandable String Value and select 'Modify'.
4. Finally set a user defined '.wav' filename as the value data and click 'OK'.

 

However, if you want to play the default sound, replace new path with earlier. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
