How to find out IP address of your computer?

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a logical address of a computer represented by the numerical identification just like a telephone number for your computer.Each time you connect to the Internet you may be assigned a different IP address, or you may always have the same IP address. Your IP address is the way other computers contact you. In some situations it is helpful to know what your IP address is. For example, when doing teleconferencing, other people can call you up if they know what your IP address is. In office
situations, other devices such as printers and file servers may have their own IP numbers. An IP address consists of a series of four numbers, connected by dots. An example would be: 123.45.67.89

If you wish to know the details of your computer IP address, here is the quick tips that helps you to find the IP address for your computer using the windows command prompt.
  1. Click the Start menu
  2. Select Programs
  3. Select Command Prompt
  4. Type "netstat -n" including the space.Press Enter then you'll see an image.
  5. The image contains a list of all your active connections and IP numbers. 
You can also see what programs are being used to connect to those IP addresses by typing "netstat -nab".

 Also another way you can do it from the command prompt
  1. Click the Start menu Select Programs
  2. Select Command Prompt
  3. Type ipconfig /all
  4. Press Enter.
