How to disable / enable Ctrl+Alt+Del before login screen?

As a security feature Security Attention Sequence (SAS) of Windows NT based operating systems like Windows Server 2003 you are required to press Ctrl-ALT-DEL before being prompted for a user name and password at log-in.

You can disable it and jump right to the login screen.

  1. Click Start then Run.
  2. In the Run box type "gpedit.msc"
  3. Under Computer Configuration Click the + next to Windows Settings, then Security Settings, Local Policies then click on Security options.
  4. Double click Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL and set it to Enabled, then press OK.
Note: Similarly you can enable Ctrl-Alt-DEL service "Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL and set it to Disabled".
